The half-hourly Sunday and public holiday service will reduce to an hourly timetable from 3 November (in Autumn and Winter 2023/24 the Sunday service was three journeys in each direction).

Evening and Sunday journeys will now also serve Polegate and Eastbourne, matching the Monday to Saturday daytime route which runs between Brighton, Lewes, Ringmer, Laughton, Hailsham, Polegate, District General Hospital and Eastbourne. These newly extended hourly journeys are being provided on a commercial basis by Brighton & Hove Buses.

Eastbourne-Polegate-Hailsham-Herstmonceux-Ninfield-Sidley-              Bexhill Hospital-Bexhill

New service 53 replaces service 98 journeys between Eastbourne and Bexhill. In Bexhill the new route serves Bexhill Hospital instead of London Road and Town Hall Square. The rest of the 53 route is the same as the 98 route between Sidley, Ninfield, Hailsham (via Hawks Road), Polegate and Eastbourne.

The service frequency between these towns is unchanged (including the new evening and Sunday journeys introduced from 23 July 2023), though on a revised timetable. The first weekday journey to Eastbourne will instead start from Herstmonceux at 07:09 and arrive in Eastbourne at 07:56. The first 53 Monday to Saturday journey from Bexhill, Sidley, Ninfield and Windmill Hill is approximately one hour later, arriving in Eastbourne at 09:28. This is the arrival time of the first Saturday journey from Herstmonceux too.

Service 98 will continue to run between Sidley, Bexhill, Pebsham and Hastings, on a revised timetable.

Route and timetable changed to improve punctuality. Route revised to run between Hastings town centre, Pebsham, Hastings town centre and Sidley. Service 98 is replaced between Bexhill and Eastbourne by new route 53 (see above).

Eastbourne Sightseeing (Seasonal service)

Eastbourne Pier-seafront-Beachy Head-Birling Gap-East Dean-town centre-Eastbourne Pier

The daily half-hourly Summer season timetable runs until 29 September.

From 30 September to 27 October the service remains daily half-hourly, though with the last journey from Eastbourne Pier an hour earlier at 17:30.

The Autumn timetable from 2 November provides a Saturday and Sunday service. This is half-hourly, with the first journey from Eastbourne Pier at 10:30 and the last journey at 15:30.

After the 8 December this seasonal service will be withdrawn for the winter period.
