Registering a building for worship and as a place of marriage

3. Same sex marriages

If your place of worship is registered to facilitate opposite sex marriages, you can register your building to facilitate same sex marriages.

To apply for a certificate that consent has been given for a building to be registered for the solemnisation of marriages of same sex couples Guidance notes (Form 78A) (gov.uk)

Download and complete the General Register Office Form 78A (gov.uk) and return 2 copies with payment of £71 (payable to East Sussex County Council) to:
