Do you want to work in a team where you will be supported to be true to your Social Work values? Or are you looking to start your career in social care?

The Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood support team are looking for both qualified social workers and resource officers to join our experienced, supportive team. The work is fast paced and always interesting, no two days are ever the same!

The main purpose of your role is to assess people’s needs and associated risks, establishing their eligibility for services under the Care Act, as well as assessing capacity under the Mental capacity Act. An understanding of this legislation is essential.  You will also have the opportunity to support with undertaking safeguarding enquiries. You will be liaising and working closely with other teams and agencies using a multi-disciplinary approach to inform your practice.

There is a strong ethos in the team to facilitate and encourage ongoing professional development. We offer apprenticeships in social work and the opportunity to qualify as a best interests assessor and to complete your Practice Educator training. The nature of referrals we receive will give you valuable experience of working with a wide variety of different client groups and ages. This will provide a good foundation for working in all areas of adult services.

We are looking for candidates who are able to work autonomously and as part of the team. You will be adaptable, person centred, a great team player and committed to ongoing professional development.

We have a strong person centred, strengths based approach and we will expect you to have a solid commitment to anti discriminatory practice.

To apply for this role please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above. When completing your application be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education or personal interests.

Interviews will be held in person in Hastings, Cavendish House, and are planned for the week beginning the 20 May.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.
