Hours of work: 18 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

Etchingham C E School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant Level 3, who is passionate about children and learning.  We are a small Church of England Primary School situated in picturesque countryside in the village of Etchingham.
The post is for 18 hours per week including lunch time supervision. The working pattern will be for 3 days from 8:45am to 1:15pm & 1:45pm to 3:15pm. Applicants must be available to work on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

We are looking for someone with: ​

  • Confidence and expertise in supporting the learning of our pupils and who:
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Has experience of supporting learning in a primary school environment and has good literacy and mathematical skills.
  • Can contribute to a dynamic and hardworking team, working alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to provide consistent, calm and nurturing support.
  • Is committed to supporting the Christian ethos of the School.

As a Teaching Assistant Level 3, there may be times when you will be expected to cover the class for Teacher PPA time or training; where this is not the case, the responsibility also reflects, in the initial phase of this role, a requirement for focused support for particular pupils.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
