An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) in East Sussex, as SAB Development Manager. If you are passionate about working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to drive forward the vision to safeguard adults from abuse, neglect and exploitation, then this could be the role for you!

The post will have a leading role to coordinate Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs), develop and implement the SAB strategic plan, as well as ensuring SAR action planning is effective to embed organisational learning across agencies.

Whilst situated in Adult Social Care, this post is a central, visible, and highly influential role within the wider SAB network, working closely with multi-agency partners to build and sustain effective working relationships. The successful candidate will provide support flexibly to the SAB and Adult Social Care business needs and priorities that may fluctuate and change.

We are looking for an outstanding individual with communication, management and leadership skills, with a sound knowledge and understanding of adult safeguarding, key legislation, quality and assurance systems and a commitment to partnership working.

This is an exciting time to join the SAB to help us further develop this key agenda whilst taking advantage of a generous reward package, flexible working opportunities allowing a mix of being home and office based, and the chance to learn and progress in your career.

This role has become available due to the relocation and retirement of the current post holder, who has this to say about their experience of the position:

I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to undertake this role for the past 2.5 years. If you really want to make a difference to improving and raising awareness of safeguarding adults at risk in East Sussex, you will thrive in this role. Working alongside experienced and knowledgeable practitioners from a variety of agencies has been a real privilege for me and it will enhance your learning enormously as it has mine. This partnership role is really at the forefront of making ‘safeguarding everyone’s business’.

If this opportunity sounds like something you’d be interested in, we look forward to receiving  your application!

The application process is via a CV and cover letter, outlining how the essential and desirable criteria for the post are met.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on Thursday 1 August or Friday 2 August. The interviews are due to take place in person.

If you are unavailable on these dates let us know and we may be able to schedule an alternative date with you.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.
