Hours of work: 17.5 (TA) + 5 (MDSA)
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service
As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata

Teaching Assistant 3 + MDSA

From 1st September 2024 - Term Time only contract, 5 days per week, mornings only + lunchtime MDSA duty

Situated between Horam and Heathfield, Maynards Green is a successful and friendly, community primary school which encourages a love for learning and has high expectations of every individual. Our school offers a supportive and caring environment and well behaved and highly motivated learners. The experienced and supportive staff team is friendly and committed to maintaining high standards.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning at Maynards Green. This position would initially be working for five mornings a week within our Key Stage 2 classes. The role is varied in the support you would provide for these children, and will vary from taking small groups, working with individual children or supporting the whole class.

We also appreciate the value of continuity from Teaching Assistant Role to Midday Supervisory Assistant role, in supporting our children therefore this vacancy will include lunchtime duties.

We are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual who shares the same passion for learning as the school team and has high aspirations for themselves and others. As well as demonstrating commitment to our school values and following and implementing the school's behaviour policy, the successful candidate will have a sense of fun and provide opportunities for our children to flourish and grow. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with our children.

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has good standard of education particularly in English and Mathematics (preferably GCSE grade C or above)

• Has excellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively to adults and children

• Can work effectively with colleagues

• Has a proven ability to work on their own initiative and has a ‘can do’ attitude

• Can demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding

• Is willing to participate in training and developmental opportunities

• Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality on all school matters
