Hours of work: 15 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

We are excited to announce that Forest Row Primary School will be launching a new Nursery as part of the school, providing provison for children aged 2-11.
Part of the Bluebell Federation, Forest Row Primary and Nursery has a fantastic opportunity for a new Nursery Assistant to join our team in September 2024.
The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate effectively with the Nursery team in creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for preschool children.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting team members in delivering high-quality care and education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, and participating in a variety of activities that cater to each child's physical, intellectual, and emotional needs to help them achieve their full potential.
  •  Implementing activities that promote linguistic and social interaction among children and their caregivers.
  • Acting as a key worker for a group of children by observing, monitoring, and documenting each child's development.
  • Communicating with parents/carers to address the daily needs of the children, fostering parental involvement and promoting positive parenting skills.
  • Advocating for the philosophy of 'learning through play' and supporting children in developing self-help skills.

Essential qualifications and education requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • QCF Level 2 in Maths and English.
