We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Library Manager to work alongside our current Library Manager. The Library Manager will manage and promote pupil literacy and learning and the use of the Primary and Secondary Library by the school community across both phases

The job role consists of:

  • Managing a library based system.
  • To research and source information on bestsellers/best buys and make decisions on suitable reading material.
  • To manage bookings for the Secondary Library.
  • To be responsible for library stock maintenance and control.
  • To attend relevant meetings and liaise with professional groups to ensure maximum use is made. 
  • To organise Library events and trips e.g. World Book Week, Author visits, and Open Evening Library Event, Pupil Book Groups, Southern Book Awards and other literary themed events. To promote the welfare of all children.
  • To support pupil learning – by running small reading groups and lunchtime and afternoon school clubs. 
  • To manage the learning environment – arrange displays, accessible resources, ensure the Libraries are tidy and welcoming.

We are looking to appoint a Science Technician in our Secondary Phase at Cavendish all-through school. You need to be enthusiastic, confident and an organised individual.

 

Reporting to the Senior Science Technician, the successful candidate will be required to support the existing team in co-ordinating the use of practical resources and facilities. You will be trained with an emphasis on safe working practices to provide assistance to the practical needs of the Science Curriculum. You will work closely with the Science Teachers and Technicians.

 

Your duties will be varied and there will be opportunity to develop within the role. You will have good communications skills and a flexible, self-motivating attitude with a willingness to learn from more experienced colleagues.
