Would you like to be part of an innovative, values-led, and highly supportive Educational Psychology Service (EPS), with a wide variety of types of work and opportunities to develop your specialist interests?

If you do, we can offer you an EP role at any of our three main bases: Lewes, Hastings, or Eastbourne. Second and third-year Trainee Educational Psychologists are very welcome to apply as well as more experienced colleagues.

As an EP in East Sussex EPS, you will have a good balance of core, traded and statutory work and the autonomy to apply psychology in ways that align with your values and interests. You can volunteer to be involved in ELSA supervision, receive VIG supervision, supervise trainees and Assistant EPs, join our Dynamic Assessment interest group, contribute to our Critical Incident response team, or take a lead role in other areas of specialist interest.

You’ll have a patch of schools and work with other services to provide a Team Around the School approach to early intervention and prevention, including systemic as well as individual work. You will complete statutory work that is allocated only within your available capacity to deliver the work on time.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are reflective and want to learn
  • Can empower other people to take an active role in creating positive change
  • Remain non-judgemental when encountering difficult interactions
  • Enable children and young people to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them
  • Actively promote and support educational and social inclusion.

To apply for this role, please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above. When completing your application be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education, or personal interests.

Interviews will take place in person on Monday 15 July 2024 at County Hall, Lewes.

Working with East Sussex EPS is a rare experience in the current EP climate, as our statutory work is still delivered on time, therefore enabling us to continue with a range of early intervention and prevention work. Our service is highly regarded alongside a wide range of other inclusion services.

There is autonomy and flexibility in terms of working hours and up to two days per week working from home. There is a generous travel allowance and full payment of HCPC fees. You will have innovative, friendly, and supportive colleagues, many who are skilled in using dynamic assessment and person-centred approaches. You’ll be working in a beautiful and varied environment, including coastal, rural, and urban, with each presenting unique challenges and rewards.
