Ready to make a real difference & shape Anti-Racist Practice in the professional development of social workers?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Social Work Education Team as a Professional Education Consultant on a part-time ( up to 4 days) 12-month secondment or fixed term contract.

The Social Work Education Team is at the forefront for professional development, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and diligent social work Practice Educator. Bringing focus, ideas, and energy to our work, the  postholder will influence and shape the development of social work practice including the next generation of social workers. Working across Adult and Children’s services you will have a genuine opportunity to influence the shape the delivery of practice education & mentoring through an anti-racist lens. This will include implementing  recommendations from recent anti-racist practice research conducted by Sussex University  in East Sussex County Council, to conduct research around failing black, racialised and minoritised ethnic students & support for practice educators, mentors and supervisors to develop practice learning skills.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker & Practice Educator with a strong background in anti-racist practice, commitment to providing high quality practice learning to students, Newly Qualified Social Workers and to continuing professional development.

Application eligibility :

1. You will be a registered social worker.

2. You will be a qualified Practice Educator. 

We are looking for candidates who are able to work at the Experienced Practitioner Level of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) Have knowledge of practice learning and social work education at qualifying and post qualifying levels and have experience of contributing to the learning of social work students and qualified staff.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
