East Sussex County Council, Multi-Agency Screening Hub (MASH) has developed an exciting opportunity to be part of developing domestic abuse expertise at first point of contact. This post will be appropriate for a suitably qualified senior practitioner from social work, probation, nursing etc. background.  

In this role you will be responsible for developing expertise within the MASH for screening, assessing, and responding to domestic abuse referrals.  You will sit within MASH and SWIFT (Specialist Family Service) who are expert practitioners in the field of domestic abuse.

You will carry a small caseload, will work alongside partner agencies to implement support and intervention to victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse and will share your expertise with partner agencies advising, for example, on protective measures, providing support and advice to early help services and working alongside SWIFT Specialist Family Service domestic abuse team.

You will benefit from supervision from the Manager & Advanced Practitioner within SWIFT DA theme.  

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary service
  • Is able to undertake complex assessment work
  • Has a sophisticated understanding of domestic abuse
  • Is able to work with families in crisis situations, and support other workers to do so

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
