Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme

As part of their Project Gigabit connectivity programme, the Government is providing up to £210 million worth of voucher funding as immediate help for people experiencing slow broadband speeds in rural areas.

The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme focuses on helping specific eligible people and communities to upgrade their broadband connection. It runs in areas where premises will not be covered by Project Gigabit contracts.

Under the scheme, eligible homes and businesses can apply for up to £4,500 to cover the costs of a gigabit-capable connection.

BDUK’s information appears to suggest that East Sussex is not currently an active area for vouchers although it says that more areas may open to the scheme in the future. The information may be clarified further once BDUK has agreed the scope of the Intervention Area for its pan-Sussex contract with CityFibre.
