Every year children can take part in a free summer reading challenge at libraries across East Sussex.

Last year's challenge ended in September 2009. Look out for details of the next challenge at your school or local library in July 2010.

Quest Seekers 2009

What happened in 'Quest Seekers'

Hundreds of children became Quest Seekers and we challenged you to complete three tasks:

  1. Firebird Rising
  2. Mountain Mission
  3. Dragon's Lair.

Each task involved reading two books and collecting stickers, bookmarks, models and puzzles. If you finished all three tasks, you completed the quest! You will receive a special Quest Seekers medal and certificate.

Children under four took part in a Quest Seekers Book Crawl to earn a very special certificate and Bookstart Bear teddies.

There were lots of events as well, including Harry Potter shows and Hogwarts summer school, puppet shows, drama and music workshops, storytelling and crafts.

Competitions

Everyone who completed the summer reading challenge entered a prize draw for tickets to Legoland, Chessington World of Adventures and other great prizes. Check our list of competition winners.

Children who wrote the best book reviews won free DVD vouchers – read the winning summer book reviews.
