Rubbish and recycling – events and activities
The Rethink Rubbish Bus is free, interactive, fun and can visit schools and community events in East Sussex. It's packed full of information on how you can reduce your waste, how to recycle and compost. The Bus:
- is fully staffed and has its own power supply
- is accessible to those with disabilities
- has full public liability insurance.
Book the bus for any weekday, weekend or evening event (evening events are only possible April-September). Early booking is advised, especially for the summer months.
For events or age groups where the bus isn't suitable we offer a stall or other educational activities.

- Book the Rethink Rubbish bus or stall for public events, including fetes, fayres, markets and environment days.
- Childrens' community groups
- The Rethink Rubbish bus, activities or puppet show can be booked for childrens' community groups, such as Scouts and Guides or youth clubs of all ages.
- Adult community groups
- The Rubbish Heap Challenge game has been designed to get people thinking about waste. Teams rethink the rubbish for the future by redesigning an item of waste to provide an environmentally friendly solution.
